S: come sei arrivata alla musica reggae? dicci qualcosa in merito alla tua storia musicale

C: Io ero e sono un'avida lettrice, ed una poetessa. Scrivo poesie da quando avevo otto anni o forse ero anche più piccola.

Ho ascoltato Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" quando ero una bambina, mi sono innamorata di questa canzone ed ho iniziato a dar vita alle melodie per le mie poesie. E’ stato facile per me e da quel giorno ho deciso che sarei diventata una cantante. All'epoca ero più interessata alla musica Pop e R'n'B. Ascoltavo molto  Mariah Carey e Whitney Houston, ma dopo aver ascoltato un gruppo chiamato Ace of Base, ho cercato di fare la stessa musica in Giamaica. Così ho iniziato a scrivere reggae, poi sono diventata una fan di Shabba Ranks, Super Cat e più tardi di Beenie Man e Lady Saw.

S: e quali sono i tuo cantati preferiti?

C: te ne ho detti alcuni, continuando amo Jill Scott, Fiona Apple, Janet Jackson ma il mio artista favorito è Madonna.

S: puoi parlarci del tuo nuovo album? è veramente energetico!

C: Il mio nuovo album rappresenta perfettamente ogni lato del mio carattere. Penso di poter essere sensibile ("Don't go"),  fedele ("Waiting"), solidale ("Ride or die"), amorevole e sensuale ("Kinda loving"), provocante ("Burning up") e veramente maliziosa ("Faking", "Worth It", "Talk Talk"), ma anche una dura ("So fly"), ecc.ecc. Spero che le persone imparino a comprendere tutti i miei lati e non mi vedano semplicemente come un tipo di artista. Penso che rappresenti me stessa nella mia totalità, le mie cose non suonano come nient’altro ed io non provo a scrivere ciò che è stato già scritto.

S: mi parli della tua collaborazione con Zojak World Wide?

C: E' avvenuta tramite Danger Zone, la mia etichetta, e Delmar Drummond il direttore che voleva il meglio per questo progetto ed ha sentito che Zojak si sarebbe aggiunto a "Waiting" in modo positivo. Sono contenta di raggiungere un pubblico più vasto tramite Zojak.

S: Ci puoi parlare del ditolo dell'album "Wotrh it"?

C: "Worth it" è il titolo di una traccia dell'album dove io convinco il mio ragazzo a non pensarci due volte a spendere soldi per me perchè lui dovrebbe sapere che vale la pena, e dico alle ragazze li fuori di accertarsi di non essere usate, non che i soldi siano l’unico modo per essere sicure di non essere usate, ma certamente aiuta a capire.

S: nell'album ci sono diversi featuring, ce ne parli?

C: Beenie man in "So flY" prodotta da Scot Storch che produce anche 50 Cents, Mariah Carey, Beyonce per fare qualche nome, Danger Zone e SoBe Record insieme hanno creduto che sarebbe stato grandioso avere Bennie nell'album. Trina è una vecchia conoscenza della SoBe Record. Ding Dong è arrivato ed ha letteralmente saltato per me sulla canzone "Dancer", avendo avuto buoni consenti nel tuor in Giappone abbiamo deciso di lavorare insieme sebbene io non balli bene come lui. Shaggy è un mio amico e mio mentore, non ha esitato quando gli ho chiesto di fare il remix di "waiting" con me.

S: ..Ci sono artisti con i quali vorresti cantare?

C: ...Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Missy Elliot, Madonna...

S: hai già altri progetti?

S: How did you come to reggae music? tell me something about your musical history

C: I was and still am an avid reader, and a poet, Ive been writing poetry from as young as maybe 8 or even younger, I heard Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" as a kid fell in love with the song and started putting melodies to my lyrics of my poems. It came so easy to me and from that day I decided i would be a singer. At the time i was more interested in pop music and RNB, i listened a lot to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, but heard a group called Ace of Base and wanted to be that in Jamaica. so I started writing reggae, then i became a fan of Shabba Ranks, Super Cat and later Beenie Man and Lady Saw.

S: which are your favourite singers?

C: oh oh, I answered some of that above but to continue i love Jill Scott, Fiona Apple, Janet Jackson, but my most favourite artist ever is Madonna

S: Can you talk about your new album? It's really energetic!

C: My new album really represents all my sides i think, I can be sensitive (Don't Go) i can be faithful ("Waiting") I can be supportive ("Ride or Die) I can be loving and sexual (Kinda loving) I can be a teaser and a turn on (Burning up) and i can be very mischievous (Faking, Worth It, Talk Talk) I can be bad ass (So fly) etc etc Hopefully people will get to learn about all my sides and not just see me as one type of artist, i think i totally represent me, my stuff doesn't  sound like anyone else and i don't try to write what has been written before

S: tell me something about your collaboration with Zojak World Wide

C: That came about through Danger Zone, my label, and Delmar Drummond the CEO rally reaching out and wanting the best for the project and he felt Zojak would add to "Waiting" in a positive way. I am happy to be able to reach more audienced via Zojak

S: can you talk about the title of the album? "worth it"

C: "Worth it" is the title of one of the tracks from the album ,where I'm telling my boyfriend not to think twice about spending on me because he should know I am worth it, and I'm always telling ladies out there to make sure they are not being used, not that money is the only way for one to know that you are not being used but it sure helps you to figure it out, lol

S: In the album there are many featurings, can you talk about it?

C: Beenie Man on "So Fly" is produced by Scot Storch who also produced 50 Cents, Mariah Carey, Beyonce to name a few, Danger Zone and SoBe Records hooked that up and thought it would be great to have Beenie on the album. Trina that was an older song done by SoBe records  as well Ding Dong came and jumped on the song Dance for me, we clicked while on tour in Japan and decided we had to work together, even though i don't dance as good as he does Shaggy is a personal friend and mentor of mine, he didnt hesitate when i asked him to do the remix of "Waiting" with me

S: ...is there an artists you would like to sing with?

C: ...Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Missy Elliot, Madonna...

S: do you already have new projects?
